ABOUT MAG 7

ur Band formed in 2003 when we decided to do something that would be completely different from what pipe bands are doing in the NY/ NJ area. Playing the same parades in the heat and cold is what most bands do here, and we had all grown tired of that. Many of us have been playing for years and were feeling musically limited by the grind of the parade scene.
Our somewhat unique name is inspired by our signature concert tune,
"Theme from the Magnificent Seven."
Combining Pipes and Drums with a 40 piece Concert Brass Orchestra is a great way to reach new audiences, and playing music that a wide of range of people can relate to and enjoy, continues to be our primary goal.
As many of our members are multi talented and play several instruments, we like to add the Smallpipes, Tin Whistle, Guitar, Flute, Electronic Pipes, Didgeridoo, Harmonica, Bhodran, Irish stepdancing and even a full Rock Band to our shows.
We are delighted to see that our vision has proven correct as we are now playing concerts before large audiences and experiencing what it is like to be performers on a stage, rather than marchers in poorly attended parades.
Our new CD has been well received and is selling very well at our shows.
We hope to see you at the next one!
